Last Saturday I found myself in Downtown Topeka with the urge to photograph one of my favorite locations, the Kansas State Capitol. Since December 2011, the Statehouse has gone through a $120 million modernization project. The project included restoration of all floors, the rehabilitation and expansion of its basement, restoration of its exterior masonry and copper roof/dome. After 13 years, the project was completed this spring. The result is a beautiful piece of art, history and architecture.
We Kansans should be very proud of our magnificent Capitol building. If you have not been to the Capitol recently it is a must see in Topeka.
