THE CHALLENGE
For four decades, the Topeka High School Historical Society has preserved and celebrated the stories, traditions, and legacy of one of Kansas' most iconic high schools. As the organization approached its 40th anniversary in 2025, leadership recognized an opportunity to strengthen its visual identity and better connect with alumni, donors, students, and supporters.
The existing branding had served the organization well, but it lacked the flexibility and contemporary appeal needed across today's digital and print platforms. The challenge was to create a refreshed identity that honored the Society's rich history and deep connection to Topeka High while positioning it for the next generation of storytelling, fundraising, and engagement.
The new brand needed to feel timeless rather than trendy, respectful of tradition while still conveying energy, relevance, and momentum.
THE SOLUTION
The result was a refined and cohesive visual identity that reflects the prestige and history of the Topeka High School Historical Society while providing the versatility needed for future growth.
The project included the development of a refreshed logo system, anniversary branding elements, supporting graphic assets, and visual standards that create consistency across every touchpoint. The updated identity brings greater professionalism and recognition to the organization while maintaining a strong connection to its heritage.
Through thoughtful design and historical storytelling, the Society gained a brand that feels both established and forward-looking—one capable of celebrating the last 40 years while helping preserve Topeka High's legacy for generations to come.
OUR INSPIRATION
With over 150 years since its founding, Topeka High School is steeped in tradition. The artistic details within the architecture of the school provide a rich inspiration palette.

Scope of Work

1
Logo Design
When approaching the logo, it was important to create something that was both dynamic and timeless. A logo that would make an impact. A secondary logo was created to showcase the iconic tower of the school. Which celebrates 100 years in 2031.
2
Branding Elements
A cohesive visual identity to honor the school's legacy while providing a flexible system for the future. Deliverables included the logo, color palette, typography, and supporting graphic elements designed for use across print, digital, merchandise, and event materials.
